Happy Anniversary Osama! (NOT!!)

It was approximately a year ago today that you moved into Heaven with all your virgins! Hope you’re having a good time!

No, I’m being disingenuous! There probably is no Heaven or Hell and if there is I certainly don’t hope you’re enjoying the afterlife. As I see it, the reality is you’re dead and your body has pretty much decomposed by now; but in your case Osama, I REALLY like the concept of Hell and the thought of you and all your kind feeling the “heat” for all of eternity.

What you and all your murderous followers did (and are still doing) is just so unbelievably stupid and selfish its (if you’ll excuse an expression from the ’60’s) ‘mind-blowing!’

It’s like, OK I’m going to make up this God and write this “holy book” that reflects what I think is right and promise to live by it — but I’m not happy with that! I’m so sure that I’m right that I’m also going to insist that everyone else in the whole world worships my made-up God and my vision of the right way to live and if they don’t I’ll find some brainless puppets who DO believe me and have them kill everyone who doesn’t.

My made-up religion, you see, is far more important than anyone who dares to think independent thoughts.

Hey Osama, you’ve had a year to think about it, be honest! You must realize by now that you were a stupid arrogant man who lived a meaningless life.

Of course the kind of stupidity exhibited by you and your Muslim fanatics is not unique in history so don’t feel so special. For 1500 hundred years, the Christian Church systematically operated torture chambers throughout Europe. Thousands were killed because the fanatical leaders of the Christian religion set themselves up as judges, juries and executioners in the name of their made-up God.

To me, the bottom line is this: You can believe in your God and live your life the way you see fit but if the way you live your life causes anyone else pain, suffering or loss than you’ve crossed the line between being an observant religionist to being a criminal.

It’s called respect and respect is greater than any religion, any deity or any one person.

International Herald Tribune: Extremism thrives in Pakistan despite bin Laden death

Newt you’re a conceptual genius,
your ideas and visions
challenge us, intrigue us.

Genius’ have special places in society;
places of respect and honor
but not places of trust – not today.

You spoke truths
that challenged common man
to break virtual barriers.

You shared visions
that intrigued even intellectuals,
intrigued them but scared them.

Fearlessness is essential
to the nature of heroes
but is no longer a trait of the masses.

We were once a nation of heroes;
we met brutal challenges
we faced down and conquered enemies.

That was a time when
a President Gingrich
could have ensured our future.

Now is also a time when
your truths and visions
could improve the world;

but our population of heroes
have become cringing spectators
and directionless mediators.

A Funny Thing Happened

A funny thing happened
on the way to Socialism
the people spoke

They spoke in Virginia
they spoke in Mass
Loud and clear to evoke

the spirit of our Founders
and those Boston rebels
they spoke with spirit unbroke

They spoke of freedom
from feckless, reckless government

. . . and the party in power twitched!

It’s time to speak again!

Black Pride or American Pride

Usually, at least from my perspective, a Chris Matthews (“Hardball”) commentary is so far out in ‘left field’ (pun intended) that I will tune it out. Matthews does have his moments however!

Case in point: in a recent discussion with Chuck Todd, NBC’s Chief White House Correspondent, and Howard Fineman from the Huffington Post Matthews posed an interesting (and unfortunately prophetic) question:

“Is there going to be a reluctance on the part of the voters and the political community that talks politics as we get into November about dumping the first African-American president? Is that going to be something that just ratchets people?”

I heard the statistic on a radio talk show just this morning that 90% of black voters polled will be voting for President Obama in November. 90%!!! That HAS to be a mistake.

If that 90% figure is not a mistake, What does that tell you? It tells me that Obama can do anything, commit any sin against America or the Constitution and 90% of black voters will forget or ignore it just because he’s the ‘first black president'”

On second thought, I guess I can sort of understand that if it’s true. Blacks in the United States (and before it became united) have a blighted history to look back on and now the unbelievable has happened; a black man has become the leader of that very country. Even the First Lady publically admitted that, before that happened, she wasn’t really proud of the United States or, apparently, proud to be an American.

It’s terribly sad to think about black history and realize that it happened here but, to me it’s even sadder to realize that we have that many people who apparently have their heads buried in history to the extent that, it can only be assumed, they don’t give a damn about this country or where it will be headed, under President Obama’s guidance, should he be reelected.

Democratic Socialism: The Grinch that’s stealing our spirit

“We as a nation, as a people, are suffering from the Stockholm Syndrome. It’s when you’re a hostage, when you’ve been kidnapped, and when your kidnappers show you a little bit of mercy, you’re grateful for it.”

Those are the words of Wisconson Sen. Ron Johnson at the recent Young America’s Foundation (YAF) Freedom Conference in Milwaukee. The Stockholm Syndrome he describes, however, is just a symptom of the plague that has been spreading across America under Democratic as well as Republican administrations since FDR’s ‘fix’ for the great depression was put into place.

That plague is the Democratic Socialism that has been growing since the 1930s and is now, under a president who’s constantly stated goal is to “level the playing field”, attempting to destroy America’s essence.

The core concept of Socialism is the abhorrence of private property (“property,” in this sense, refers not only to land and structures, it also refers to accumulated wealth); while pure Socialism advocates revolution as a means of “returning” property to the state or the community, Democratic Socialism advocates the same end but attempts to arrive at that end through the “evolution” possible in a democratic system rather than through the force and violence of revolution.

We have, for the last 3-1/2 years had a front-row seat as the Democratic administration and the administration’s drones in Congress (including many Republican drones) have attempted and, to some extent succeeded in taking giant steps toward the Socialist goal, i.e., the elimination of private property.

What is most bothersome is that far too many Americans are to ‘nearsighted’ to be able to comprehend that they are gradually losing their basic freedoms to a government that seeks to ‘enslave’ them.

Freedom to choose their own health insurance or to choose to ‘self-insure’, for example, may seem like minor inconveniences to some who either don’t want to bother or are unable to see that the government has taken a big step into an area of our lives where they don’t belong. According to our president, however, it’s all for the “greater good” it just “levels the playing field.”

America was built on rugged individualism, on the backs of entrepreneurs who were willing to risk their time and money in the hopes of building a business and reaping the rewards if that risk succeeded. According to our president (and his drones) that’s just not fair! Whatever profit that entrepreneur makes is, in their estimation, obscene and should be subject to confiscation and “redistribution.” If this kind of ‘for profit behavior’ is allowed to persist the president’s ‘playing field’ will be never be level. Some people will be successful and others will be unsuccessful and have less money — the Socialist mindset cannot comprehend that and will not tolerate it.

If all of this seems to you to be a grand exaggeration — a scare tactic — then I feel just a little sorry for you — but I feel very sorry for the United States of America if your’s happens to be the deciding vote in November.
